What it is. UnitTrack is a web app that turns a utility's raw metered usage data into analysis and safe-to-publish aggregates — with statistical disclosure control applied automatically, so individual customers can't be singled out. One tool in place of a data scientist and a spreadsheet.
Who it's for. US electric, gas, and water utilities, agencies, and community choice aggregators that want to publish or share usage insight — for planning, conservation, rate design, equity, and research — without risking a customer-privacy disclosure. The problem it solves. Utilities hold detailed customer usage data and are regularly asked to share aggregate views of it. But naive aggregation leaks: a group with too few customers — or one dominated by a single large account — can expose an individual. Today this is done by hand in spreadsheets: slow, inconsistent, and risky. Improper disclosure of customer usage data is a regulated, penalty-bearing event (e.g. California's CPUC "15/15" rule).
